More time to pay NHC

TEN MORE DAYS.

That’s how long pregnant mother of six Vondene Sandiford has been given to settle her $5 000 arrears with the National Housing Corporation (NHC).

Sandiford was facing eviction from a two-bedroom housing unit in Grazettes Housing Area, St Michael, with a deadline of February 29, but she told the DAILY NATION she had been given an extension until March 10.

Another possible lifeline was handed to her by Minister of Social Care Steve Blackett who yesterday empathised with her situation.
