AFTER HER SON was attacked by cutlass-wielding assailants hiding in roadside bush, a Woodland, St George mother is calling for action on the bush and the culprits.

Standing feet away from the spot where her 16-year-old son’s life was nearly ended, Felicia Grannum told the DAILY NATION that the bush by the side of road had been the hiding spot for a group of men who used it as their base to attack passers-by.

Grannum said that last Tuesday night her son was walking home from a shop about a mile away when he and another young man were attacked. A group of men emerged from the nearby bush, assaulted the teenager and accosted his friend.

As she came outside her house to find out the cause of the commotion, the mother said one of the attackers jump-kicked her. The upset woman said that in the midst of the attack on her son, the men told him they would be back if anyone went to the media or police.
