ORGANISERS of the Flow Oistins Fish Festival are urging Barbadians to fully appreciate the value of the annual Easter Weekend celebrations.

According to deputy chairman Dr Dan Carter, as Barbados prepares to celebrate fifty years of independence, activities in the southern fishing district ought to be celebrated even more so this time around.

“The fisherfolk of Oistins always get excited for the festival because it gives our people the opportunity to showcase their talents to an audience that may have otherwise not have experienced it. And it is all the more special this year because of the national significance,” he said.

Carter was speaking after telecoms provider Flow renewed its title sponsorship of the festival. For the first time ever, Flow will also produce a 30-minute highlights package that will be broadcast throughout the Caribbean via Flow TV.
