Bajans reach out

HEALTH CARE SERVICES in Barbados will benefit from a wide range of medical supplies, thanks to the Barbadian community in Canada.

Consul general for Barbados in Toronto Haynesley Benn said a 40-foot container of medical supplies was put together by the Bajans living in Toronto and it was the second year that the diaspora had made such a donation. He also said a second donation was expected in either July or August.

The equipment includes mattresses, dialysis machines, beds, and wheelchairs valued at CAN$150 000.

“I look forward to all the products that are in there reaching the various areas including the children’s homes in Barbados. (LK)
