A MOTHER of two wants to know why police have not arrested and charged a man who pulled his licensed firearm on a group of children playing in a rural neighbourhood more than a month ago.

The woman, who came to the NATION’s offices to complain about the situation, said she was not satisfied with how the police were dealing with such a serious matter.

Requesting anonymity, the woman related how on April 26, around 5 p.m., her 12-year-old son and nine-year-old daughter were with other children in the Arch Hall, St Thomas neighbourhood playing road tennis, when a man drove towards them in a van.

“The children went to move the wood which was in the road when he accelerated, so they moved away. The man waited and the children moved the wood and he drove forward slowly, stopped by them, pulled his weapon on the children and told them, ‘I can kill all o’ wunnah’.” (MB)
