SCORES of round one matches in the 30th annual Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools’ Cricket Tournament played on July 4 at various venues.

ZONE A

At Pine Basin: Match reduced to 20 overs. Fatima College 55-7 in 20 overs (Andrew Davidson 21, Emilo Gopaul 2-12, Keron Persaud 2-15). Presentation College 56-3 in 12.3 overs (Nathaniel Ramcharitar 19, Joel Sutherland 10 not out). Presentation College beat Fatima College by seven wickets.

At James Bryan: French Verandah St Vincent Community College v Foundation School – Foundation School 36-2 in 12 overs (Shaquon Carrington 21 not out). Rain stopped play. Match abandoned.

At Gall Hill: Vishnu Boys Hindu College 73-3 in 21.5 overs (Ravendra Persaud 24 not out, Carl Kumar 20). Queen’s College Guyana (Target 74 in 22 overs) 70-4 in 12.4 overs (Kawal Dhanraj 19, Nickyle Sadhoo 16, Joey Samuel 11, Rickash Boodram 10, Elnathan Sukhnandan 2-11). Rain stopped play – No decision.

At Crab Hill: St Leonard’s v Oakville Cricket Academy – Match to be played on Wednesday, July 6.

ZONE B

At Crab Hill: Hamilton Lashley Foundation 166-7 in 31 overs (Micah Thornhill 62, Nagid Forde 30, Paulanderson Fields 20, Jevon Grovesnor 15, Ayo Barrow 10; Nigel Jno Lewis 4-24, Derry Auguste 2-38). Dominica Combined Schools 83 in 30.1 overs (Deon Williams 21, Ndo Joseph 14, Jervon Raphael 13, Lincoln Durand 11; Andre Skeete 3-20, Dario Greaves 2-16, Micah Thornhill 2-21). Hamilton Lashley Foundation beat Dominica Combined Schools by 83 runs.

At Bridgefield: BCL Juniors 87-3 in 19.3 overs (Akeel Hoyte 24, Shaquan Cave 18 not out, Micah Simmons 18, Deopaul Persaud 2-24). Eletra Institute (target reduced to 83 off 19 overs after rain stopped play) 78-8 in 19 overs (Deopaul Persaud 32, Krishna Persaud 15, Jhavid Forde 12, Shakeel Turney 3-8, Damario Goodman 2-4). BCL Juniors beat Eletra Institute by five runs.

At Wayne Daniel: (Match reduced to 31 overs) Queen’s Park Cricket Club 221-6 in 28 overs (Jordan Warner 142, Quame Mohammed 14; Ire Craig 12, Dawood Mohamed 2-9, Chetram Persaud 2-39). New Amsterdam School 91 in 27.1 overs (Chetram Persaud 30, Devendra Ramkishun 10; Kavan Byrne 4-17, Matthew DeCosta 2-7). Queen’s Park Cricket Club beat New Amsterdam School by 130 runs.

At Friendship: (Match reduced to 36 overs) Antigua Combined Schools 204-8 in 33 overs (Karima Gore 56, Tyrone Williams 42, Tariq Benjamin 40 not out, Melvin Charles 25; Runeko Layne 3-44, Joshua Cooke 2-62). Combermere School 141 in 32.2 overs (Shakkae Marshall 29, Joshua Cooke 25, Thaddaeus Chase 25, Muhammad Lokhat 15, Kofi Gilkes 11, Melvin Charles 4-35, Karima Gore 3-20). Antigua Combined Schools beat Combermere School by 63 runs. (EZS)
