EMILY ODWIN came up trumps at the Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships yesterday at the Barbados Golf Club, Durants.
The 12-year-old Barbadian tied with Brooke Rivers of Turks and Caicos for the top position in the girls’ 11-13 category, having finished with a total of 254 strokes over the three days of competition.
It was the sole first place by a Barbadian during the championships.
“The first day was tough. The conditions were perfect, yet I could not perform as well as I did yesterday [Wednesday] and today [Thursday], but it was a big battle on the first day for everyone vying to get a good spot to make it easier on the second and third day,” Odwin said. (JC)
