BGA pleased with Junior Championships

BARBADOS GOLF ASSOCIATION (BGA)president Trevor Tasker is expressing satisfaction with the staging of the Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships.

Barbados, who hosted the championships at the Barbados Golf Club, Durants course last week, took up the challenge after the scheduled hosts Cayman Islands changed their mind at the last minute. The BGA relied on the support of local sponsors and volunteers who gave of their time.

“We decided that the best interest of the sport in the region was to take up the tournament.

“Our position was although it was not our turn to host the game we still had to put on the very best for the players who were coming here,” Tasker told SUNSPORT.
