BY TOMORROW, the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) is expecting some word from the Public Service Commission (PSC) on its request for president Akanni McDowall to be restored to his position of Health Planner I.

General secretary Roslyn Smith told the DAILY NATION after a meeting with shop stewards at the NUPW’s Dalkeith, St Michael  headquarters yesterday that the PSC met every Monday to deal with public service matters and she expected to hear from the body.

McDowall, who works in the Environmental Health Department of the Ministry of Health, was returned to his previous position of health assistant sometime last month.

“It would be good if we get that request tomorrow [Tuesday] but we would say no later than Wednesday, we would like some information,” Smith said. (LK)
