A stench that sickens

GIVEN THE WATER woes many people have been encountering across Barbados throughout this year, an abundance of water may seem like a good thing.

However, this is not the case for many residents of the south coast. That abundance of water has been a curse as sewage from the South Coast Sewage Treatment Plant seems to have seeped out.

Heavy showers last weekend and early this week left most of Highway 7 along Hastings and Worthing flooded.

Days after most of that water from those showers subsided, foul-smelling, “sewage-like” water from underground continued to bubble up from manholes, settling in any pools around that area. (AD)
