Stuart raps approach

PRIME MINISTER FREUNDEL STUART too has taken a swipe at the actions of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) in its battle with the Ministry of the Civil Service.

The union ordered a go-slow at both the air and sea ports by Customs and Immigration officers since last weekend.

The action was taken after weeks of back and forth between the union and the Personnel Administration Division following the decision to revert NUPW president Akanni McDowall from his temporary post of health planner 1 to his substantive post of health assistant three weeks ago.

A day after Minister of Industry and Commerce Donville Inniss slammed the conduct of the union as “reckless and irresponsible”, Stuart rapped what he termed the NUPW’s “irregular” way of doing business. (AD)
