FORMER CHIEF JUSTICE of Barbados Sir David Simmons delivered a public lecture at the Supreme Court, Whitepark, St Michael, last Friday.
The topic was Sustaining the Judicial Branch of Government for 50 years after Independence – Tiptoeing Through Minefields.
In his lecture, Sir David outlined some of the problems plaguing the judiciary, including systemic issues; the structure of the courts and the appointment of more judicial personnel.
