BARBADOS PRIDE blew away Leeward Islands Hurricanes yesterday to book a date against Jamaica Scorpions in the final of the WICB Regional Super50 Cricket Tournament.

Riding on the back of Shai Hope’s stroke-filled hundred, another solid half-century from Kraigg Brathwaite and typical big hitting at the death from captain Jason Holder and Carlos Brathwaite, Barbados Pride galloped to 314 for seven from their 50 overs and went on to complete a crushing win by 110 runs in their day/night semi-final clash at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Having posted their highest total of the competition, Barbados Pride made early inroads into the hosts’ batting after Holder produced a beauty that claimed the prized scalp of Leewards captain Kieran Powell via an edged catch to the keeper.

It was a loss from which the hosts never recovered and they limped to 204 in 47.3 overs despite a fighting 63 from opener Montcin Hodge. (HG/CMC)
