Panam to help finish Hockey Centre

LOCAL HOCKEY IS getting outside assistance.

Steve Stoute, president of the Barbados Olympic Association, revealed yesterday that the Hockey Centre would benefit from funding from PanamSports (formerly the Pan American Sports Organisation).

He was speaking during the opening ceremony of the 32nd Barbados International Hockey Festival at the newly relaid turf at Wildey.

“I am delighted that the revitalisation of the Hockey Centre is nearing completion. I am very pleased to advise that we have only recently received word from PanamSports . . . that they are prepared to provide additional funding to assist in the completion of the project,” he said. (RG)
