The bus driver who was involved in a fracas with a bat-wielding youth last week after the Bim Tipsy show won’t be disciplined for his involvement in the incident.
However, the incident has prompted drivers to call for a private meeting with Transport Board management and chairman Gregory Nicholls, regarding safety issues on the job.
Nicholls told the Nation that all necessary protocols had been followed since the incident, with the driver providing an official incident report regarding what occurred last Sunday along Waterford Road, St Michael.
After the fracas, hundreds of Barbadians weighed in on the incident, taking to social media and claiming the driver acted in self-defence after being attacked by the youngster. Numerous videos of the fight were also circulated.
According to reports, the bus involved and a car owned by the youngster were involved in a fender-bender.
“We are aware of the matter because a formal report was filed by the driver and an accident officer, to whom he has to report,” Nicholls confirmed. (BA)
