Windies Women win first T20 vs Ireland

West Indies Women beat Ireland Women by 64 runs in the first T20 International at Dublin today.

After winning the toss and batting, Captain Stafanie Taylor look on the bulk of scoring following the early dismissal of Hayley Matthews for three.

Taylor topscored with 75 off 53 balls, including 11 fours and one six, leading West Indies to 139 for four off their 20 overs. Shemaine Campbelle scored 20 and Britney Cooper 17.

Then it was the turn of Afy Fletcher who took four wickets for 14 runs to spin out Ireland. Chinelle Henry took two for 15.

With four players making their debut, it was always going to be a tall ask for Ireland and three players failed to trouble the score.

Shauna Kavanagh was the lone spot of resistance with 46 off 55 balls, including six fours.

Ireland were all out for 75 with eight balls remaining.
