BWA repairing main on Roebuck Street

The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is advising the residents and businesses located on Roebuck Street and Country Road that a burst on a 15-inch main in the roadway near the former Globe Cinema yesterday, is being repaired.

The repairs are expected to be completed today.

The burst has resulted in water outages or low pressure in Roebuck Street, stretching from the Globe Roundabout to the traffic lights between the Transport Board and ICBL, Perry Gap and those along Country Road to the traffic lights at Whitepark Road.

Motorists are also advised to avoid the area.

The BWA is also repairing four-inch mains in Cane Garden, St Andrew; Berlin Road, Woodbourne, St Philip; Cherry Grove, St John and investigating a suspected burst in Applewhaites Tenantry, St George which are affecting persons in the immediate surrounding districts.

Water tankers have been dispatched to assist customers in all of the affected areas. (PR)
