Belmont Primary closes early

Classes at the Belmont Primary School were suspended today after teachers reportedly fell ill, and at least one student’s uniform was dirtied with paint due to unfinished work on the compound.

Around midday, parents and guardians were asked to collect their children from the school.

Belmont Primary was one of 20 public schools which did not open at the start of the new term last Monday.

Incomplete construction and rehabilitative work resulted in the need for the school plants to be industrially cleaned, materials sanitised, furniture repositioned, and school meals serving areas reequipped. (TG)
