Ireland’s head coach Graham Ford is adamant his team can beat the West Indies but will need to be at their very best in the upcoming multi-format cricket series starting on January 7 at Kensington Oval.

His comments came at the team’s first training session yesterday at St Catherine’s Club in Bayfield, St Philip, where Ireland trained in the scorching heat.

“We are very aware of the big challenge that we have here playing away from home coming out of the winter with only indoor training. The West Indies have been playing really good cricket and just pushed the number one team in the world (India) all the way and could have come out on top,” Ford told NATIONSPORT.

“We will have to be at our very best. . . ” Ford stressed. (NI)
