IT WILL BE BACK TO BUSINESS at the headquarters of the National Assistance Board (NAB) from May 12.

It was closed two weeks ago after five administrative staffers based there tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Since then, one other staff member from the Country Road, St Michael headquarters as well as a home help worker tested positive for the viral illness.

The Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs and the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) issued a joint statement today announcing the reopening.

They sought to assure the public that the premises had been thoroughly cleaned and sanitised, and that staff members had been exiting quarantine and isolation with “clean bills of health”, as certified by the Ministry of Health and Wellness. (BA/PR)
