American citizens who were stuck in Barbados for weeks because of border closures and grounded flights, are pleased to be finally making their way home.
Last Saturday, scores of US citizens left Grantley Adams International Airport around 10 a.m. aboard the commercial carrier Seaborne Airlines (Silver Airways), a chartered flight coordinated by the US Embassy, destined for San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Marita and Thomas Regan, who said they had been to Barbados more than 100 times, could not wait to get home.
The Regans own a house in Long Bay, St Philip, and travelled to the island in December with their long-time friends Edward Thal and Joseph Murphy.
They were to return to New York on April 23. (SB)
