The man accused of injuring two women in Broad Street, The City, earlier this week was remanded to prison, despite pleas for bail, when he appeared in the District “A” Traffic Court yesterday.
Justin Harvey Travis Felicien, 29, who has no fixed place of abode, pleaded not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Nathania Belle and assaulting Derika Brathwaite occasioning her actual bodily harm on October 5.
Prosecutor Constable Ralph Rollock objected to Felicien’s release as he pointed to the nature and seriousness of the offences, which he said were allegedly committed “in broad daylight on one of the most popular streets in Barbados in full view of the public”.
The prosecutor pointed to the accused’s lack of address as he informed the court that the accused had an antecedent “which suggests he has a propensity for such offences”. (HLE)
