Private sector company Bridgetown Cruise Terminals Inc. will cease operations of the Bridgetown Cruise Terminal at the Bridgetown Port on December 31, as the facility returns to Government management.

Chief executive officer of the Bridgetown Cruise Terminals Inc. Geoffrey Roach made the disclosure at a meeting of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) earlier today while giving notice that he was stepping down as chairman of the BHTA  since the company he heads, which is a member of that organisation, and in which capacity he served as chairman, would no longer be operating.

Roach has been chairman of the BHTA for the past 18 months and CEO of  Bridgetown Cruise Terminals Inc. for the last 13 years of its 28-year management of that section of the port. (GC)
