UPDATE: Police identify Lears shooting victim

A man who was fatally shot during an altercation on Saturday has been identified as 21-year-old Reco Lamar Alkins of Hannah’s Valley, Christ Church.

The incident occurred in Lears, St Michael.

Police said officers and emergency personnel responded to a report on Saturday about 6:52 p.m. that a man had been in an altercation with several men, and he had been shot.

On arrival at the scene, officers found a man lying on the roadway that leads to the business area of Lears.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
