A birthday celebration in Orange Cottage, Horse Hill, St Joseph, turned into a tragic double murder.

Police responded to a call about a number of explosions in the area around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night and discovered on arrival at the Cottage Bar and Grill, the bodies of 20-year-old Tyrese “Ty” Caesar of Durants, Christ Church and a short distance away Trae Harris, 28, of French Village, St Peter.

A third victim, 19-year-old Seth Towler of Heddings Circle, St Philip, was shot in the leg. He was treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and discharged.

Caesar’s stepfather Neil Watson said the young man had gone to a birthday lime. He said the last thing his stepson said was he was going out to come back.

“He came home around 6 p.m., took a shower and ate dinner. Then he told us he was going out to come back and jokingly said where he was going, he couldn’t take us. I never saw him alive again,” he said. (CA)
