Pride makes solid reply

BRIDGETOWN – Barbados Pride, replying to the Leeward Islands Hurricanes’ first innings total of 252 were 74 for two off 39 overs at lunch on the second day of their first round day-night pink ball match in the Regional 4-Day Cricket Championship at 3Ws Oval here Friday.

Resuming from 12 without loss, Barbados Pride lost the wickets of opener Shayne Moseley and captain Shamarh Brooks while adding 60 runs off 29 overs in the two-hour session. Both batsmen made 12.

Moseley was bowled by fast bowler Alzarri Joseph while Brooks was caught in the gully off left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell.

The not out batsmen are opener Anthony Alleyne on 28 with Jonathan Carter on 14.

On Thursday’s opening day, Antiguan leg-spinner Haydn Walsh took five for 75 in 16.2 overs for Barbados Pride while Keacy Carty top-scored for the Hurricanes with a responsible 114 off 199 balls with ten fours and a six in five and a half hours at the crease.
