FUN, FOOD AND FROLIC much summed up the scene yesterday at many of the island’s beaches for the Easter bank holiday.
While people flocked to popular beaches like Brandon’s, Batts Rock and Accra, the crowds weren’t as large as customary. Locals and tourists soaked up the sun and played in the water and some locals flew kites.
Families used the holiday as an opportunity to catch up with each other over large containers of food and cold beverages. At Brandon’s Beach off Spring Garden, the Hash House Harriers were out in their numbers.
The group of about 70 did their usual bank holiday walk, which culminated with a picnic.
“We run every Saturday and every bank holiday. After our run, we came to the beach. We have our food, our drinks and we are having a good time,” said Hash master Sandra Dookey. (DB)
