FLASHBACK: Quon (left) is the new 13-18 Junior Monarch, and Browne Star is the new 7-12 Junior Monarch. (Pictures by Sandy Pitt.)

THIRTY-SIX JUNIORS in three age categories will battle it out in social commentary, party and sweet soca when they meet on the semi-finals of this year’s Scotiabank Junior Calypso Monarch early next month.

For the first time in its history, there will be a 6-10 Junior Monarch.

For the finals, six contestants will be chosen in the 6-10 group, plus one reserve, and in the other two categories there will be five selected to meet the defending monarchs, plus reserves. (GBM) whatsapp-alerts-bloc
