Rodney Holford does not know where he will lay his head tonight, after an early morning fire gutted his home at Golden Rock, the Pine, St Michael.

Holford (right), a 51-year-old porter at the General Post Office, has lived there since childhood. rodney-holford-fire

He was at work when he received the call and rushed home to find two tenders and eight officers from the Bridgetown division dousing the embers to prevent any further tragedy in the densely populated district.

“It looks like the fire started in the back and while my neighbours were able to save a lounge chair, the only other thing which I own right now are the clothes on my back,” said Holford.

The fire victim indicated that his house was not insured and that he “sometimes” shared the dwelling with his brother.

Former Member of Parliament, Delisle Bradshaw who is the father of current MP Santia Bradshaw, was on the scene. (KB)
