PAULINE WILTSHIRE never had any expectations of a new house after severe weather ten years ago all but destroyed her childhood home.
For all those years she was forced to live in the unaffected section of the house – the wall part at the back, which consisted of a kitchen and a bathroom.
However, yesterday she was given the keys to a brand new home from Christ Church West Central Member of Parliament, Adrian Forde, who was instrumental in getting Rural Development Commission to rebuild her house at Sargeants Village, Christ Church.
Forde jumped to Wiltshire’s rescue after her situation was highlighted in this newspaper last February showing her living among the rubble of her destroyed house. He said Government had made a commitment to help elderly people such as Wiltshire.(MB)
