Cycling track set to reopen

MEMBERS OF THE Barbados Cycling Union (BCU) are chomping at the bit with the news that the cycling track at the National Stadium is setto reopen.

The Randolph Field Velodrome, one of the few concrete 500-metre cycling tracks in the Caribbean, has been off-limits for more than a year, but according to president Keith Yearwood, riders can start seeing their dreams come true soon, with the track set to be reopened now that the 2016 track and field season is virtually over.

Yearwood said the issue they faced from the beginning of this year was the use of the track for the recently concluded Barbados Secondary Schools Athletic Championships (BSSAC).
