Share post:

The National Sports Council is deploying 90 coaches in a bid to get children into more sporting activity, and tackle the problem of childhood obesity.

This problem is being addressed through the recently launched Community Sports Training Programme hosted in collaboration with the Youth Development Programme, Coast Guard and National Conservation Commission as part of the organisations’ mandate to develop national awareness through sport.

The eight-week programme will facilitate the learning of new sports and life skills, and healthy lifestyles have also been identified as a major area of concern among health practitioners and the programme’s organisers.(RG)
