Barbados Pride sealed top spot in Zone A of the Colonial Medical Insurance Super50 Cup with a commanding seven-wicket victory over Canada yesterday in St Kitts and Nevis.

Chasing 155 to win, the Pride, set up by an enterprising half-century from Kyjorn Ottley, raced to the target in 22.4 overs while losing only three wickets at the Conaree Cricket Centre.

Barbados’ sixth win in eight matches pushed them to 24 points which means they are certain of winning the zone whatever the outcome of the remaining group games.

The Pride scored at more than seven runs on over in overhauling a hardly daunting target, as the left-handed Ottley launched the chase with an aggressive 50 off 38 balls that included six fours and two sixes. (HG)
