All government day nurseries will be closed from April 1.

Director of the Child Care Board Joan Crawford told Starcom Network this was in response to a lack of demand for the service in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Crawford reminded parents not to leave children unattended at this time and they would continue to “provide a place of safety for all children”.

Earlier this week, she announced staff reductions at the 15 day care centres. (SAT)
