The Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) has a new Revenue Commissioner.
She is Louisa Lewis-Ward, who will commence her appointment on Monday.
“Mrs Lewis-Ward should make an excellent addition to the management team at the Barbados Revenue Authority,” said William Layne, chairman of the BRA Board. “It is expected that her extensive background in taxation and strategic planning will assist in helping the Authority to execute its mandate successfully.”
Prior to joining the Authority, Lewis-Ward was a Tax Partner with KPMG. Her professional history includes membership on the Tax Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB), trustee of the Barbados International Business Association (BIBA) Charity, membership on the BIBA Tax Task Force and past council membership for the Barbados Chamber of Commerce.
Lewis-Ward holds a degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Salford, UK and a Masters in Accounting with emphasis on taxation from the University of Florida at Gainesville, USA.
She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a practising member of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants in both Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean. (PR)
