PSVs aboard

The days of public service vehicles (PSV) lining the road outside the Speightstown Terminal may soon be over.

By early next month, PSVs should be operating from within the terminal, said new Minister of Transport and Works Ian Gooding-Edghill, as the ministry seeks to bring some order to the area.

“There is an issue of traffic congestion just outside of the Speightstown bus terminal. The Government has taken a policy [decision] to integrate the PSV operators and allow them to utilise the terminal to collect passengers as well as to disembark them,” he said.
Gooding-Edghill was speaking during a tour on Friday of the terminal as well as of flood-prone areas, hosted by Member of Parliament for St Peter Colin Jordan.

The minister said there were some capital works to be completed and meetings to be held with the operators, but everything should be ready in two weeks. (CA)
