THE MUSIC and education fraternity is today mourning the loss of vocalist and teacher Sydney Harris.
Harris, a former director of the Barbados Festival Choir and the Wesley Singers, taught at Wesley Hall, St Leonard’s and Garrison Secondary.
He died last Wednesday at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, at age 86.
Sydney and his brother Irvine Harris made their mark in church music over the last 60 years, with musical roots in the Methodist Church, Wesley Hall and Combermere.
Harris leaves to mourn his wife Odessa, four children, 14 grandchildren and ten great-grands. (RJ)
