SILVER SANDS have been booted out of the Digicel Premier League! On Saturday night, Youth Milan gave them their relegation papers with a 6-1 hammering at the Friendship ground, Hothersal Turning, St Michael. It was Silver Sands’ 11th defeat of the season. In the feature match, dethroned champions Mackeson Brittons Hill came from behind to defeat Paradise 3-1 and cement their second position, behind new kings Claytons Kola Tonic Notre Dame.Surprisingly, Silver Sands, who fielded only nine players at the start of their match, grabbed the opening goal in the fourth minute through Damian Small.Milan quickly replied through skipper Norman Forde in the eighth minute, and they rallied to a 3-1 scoreline by the interval, courtesy goals from Kenroy Skinner in the 29th and Jamar Watson in the 31st.Substitute Troy Johnson got in on the act in the 69th minute, tapping home from close range. Forde collected his second of the night with a lightning strike and Corey Barrow completed the rout in the 80th minute with a brilliant solo effort. The second match had no real significance for the standings but it still maintained the intensity and excitement of the early stages of the league. In a case of déjà vu;the team which scored first lost.  Marcus Marshall gave Paradise the lead in the 19th minute, an inswinging free-kick from the left grazed the head of Brittons Hill captain Gregory “Lalu” Goodridge and completely wrong-footed the custodian as the ball ripped into the far corner.Riviere Williams got his 11th goal of the season when a ball fell neatly to him inside the Paradise penalty area. Showing great awareness, the national striker drilled a snap shot low into the net to level the scoresin the 50th minute.Brittons Hill took full control of the gameand pinned Paradise back into their half, bombarding them with constant attacks. The pressure eventually worked for Brittons Hill when Williams scored his second of the night in the 71st minute with a well-executed volley into the roof of the net.Substitute Damian Winfield capped an impressive night for the Valery lads in the 85th minute, converting from close range off a pinpoint cross from Williams.
