Hundreds enjoy rally thrills

Hundreds of Barbadians, like Nicholas Walkes  turned out to watch yesterday’s opening stages of the Sol Rally Barbados 2010.And they were not disappointed! Competition was fierce among the drivers which saw England’s Paul Bird and his navigator Kirsty Riddick of Scotland ]take the pole position. The bright green of the Ford Focus WRC07whizzed through the countryside at death-defying speeds, with Bird taking advantage of a puncture suffered by local favourite Paul “The Surfer” Bourne.The event concludes today.
