BRING BACK MY MATERIALS; I need the money for them.
That’s the plea from small business woman Mona Atkins, whose popular food stall along the Coverley, Christ Church stretch of the ABC Highway which she took down by order of the Town and Country Planning Department (TC&PD) and had piled up, was removed to the dump or a depot without her knowledge.
Atkins said she received a frantic call from her neighbour yesterday informing her that the wood she had on the Coverley site was being loaded onto a truck to be taken away. And she was told this was done by the Town and Country Planning Department and the Ministry of Transport and Works personnel.
Speaking via telephone last night, Atkins said she spent $5 000 acquiring the lumber to make the structure more sturdy after the tents she initially used were destroyed by high winds on three occasions.
