BARBADIANS TRUST ATTORNEYS, says president of the Barbados Bar Association, Tariq Khan.
And he contends this is demonstrated by the small number of complaints received relative to the 1 030 attorneys who practise here.
Though he acknowledged there may be some attorneys who do not live up to the high standards expected of the profession, he said these were few and far between, and was no different from any other professional body.
Khan said that generally the public understands that attorneys play a critical role in ensuring their affairs are solved, and he appealed to Barbadians who feel they have been wronged by their attorney not to suffer in silence, but to seek redress through the Disciplinary Committee.
