Sada breaks through

BARBADIAN QUARTER-MILEER Sada Williams proved she is among the best in the hemisphere when she raced to a silver medal in the Pan American Junior Track And Field Championships in Edmonton, Canada on Friday night.

Running out of lane six, Williams finished second in 52.75 seconds over 400 metres, to win Barbados’ first medal at the meet.

The gold medal went to Canadian Kendra Clarke in 52.55 seconds and American Kendall Ellis took bronze in 52.81.

Williams was also in contention to win a medal in the 200 metres last night. (FP)
