Sweet Soca & Party Monarch semi-finalists announced

MORE THAN 215 ENTRIES were judged for the Sweet Soca and Party Monarch competitions for this year’s Crop Over Festival.

And it took the judges three days to round off both lists to 16 each with a reserve.

In the Sweet Soca going up against defending monarch Biggie Irie are:

Mistah Dale – Celebrate

Blood – I feel Alive

Nikita – Wine Gyal

Red Plastic Bag – Spontaneous

Scorpio – Obsessive Behaviour

Shaquille – Life Support

TC – Under De Influence

The reserve is Sanctuary, with Two Step. crop-over-2015

Gorg, the reigning Party Monarch champion, also knows his competition.

The reserve is Supa Hype with his song The Professionals.

The semi-finals will be held on July 3 at Kensington Oval, while the finalists will converge at Bushy Park on July 26 for Soca Royale. (NS)
