IT WAS SMOOTH SAILING for the start of the BLP Foreday Morning Jam from the two starting points of Queen’s Park and the BTI car park on Bay Street.

A heavy security force was present with private security, soldiers and police keeping an eagle eye on everyone who was milling about, but they didn’t have much to do. From Queen’s Park, past the Treasury Building, up to Probyn Street and to Bay Street, portable lights were set up at strategic points as only a handful of spectators were on hand there to see the bands parade down Wharf Road.

The revellers were early to their starting points and obediently got behind the trucks and inside the ropes as the DJs tried to get band members warmed up on the chilly night under an overcast sky.

Not caring much for the music choices, they silently chipped along as some stragglers ran to catch up. (NS)
