THE SOUND OF tinkling bells will soon be ringing out across the country as the Salvation Army launches its annual Christmas appeal.

Public relations officer Major Denzel Walcott told the NATION it was hoped that Barbadians would reach deep into their pockets and help the organization to reach its target of $700 000. The funds will go towards a number of initiatives including the meal programme.

He said the Salvation Army hoped to raise “at least $400 000” from its annual kettle appeal which will be launched next Thursday and $300 000 from the letter appeal. (GBM)
