The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) is closely monitoring the progress of a tropical wave located near 41 West at 8 a.m. LST.
This is about 2 000 km or 1 250 miles to the east of Barbados.
There are no watches or warnings in effect for Barbados. The system remains disorganised due to the unsupportive surrounding environmental conditions.
The Met Office said “model guidance suggests the system could undergo slow development as it approaches the northern Windwards by late Wednesday”.
“The system is forecast to track W- WNW at 20 mph (32 km/h). High winds associated with this system are forecast to pass north of Barbados late Wednesday,” a statement from The Met Office said.
The public is advised to stay alert for updates from the BMS and official sources on this system over the next few days.
The next update will be at 11 a.m. LST, on Tuesday, June 29. (PR)
