Car thefts at the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) have been reduced, says that facility’s duty manager Wayne Lowe.
He attributes the decline in incidents from the surge earlier this year to increased security measures and new policies implemented by car rental companies.
“We’ve beefed up security, designated an area for hired cars and the management of the cars have asked persons to return the key to the respective car rental companies here,” Lowe said.
“Lighting has been improved tremendously and more patrols in terms of our security have been beefed up, so those incidents of car theft I would add that they have been reduced tremendously,” he added. (TG)
