This year’s Round Barbados Sailing Week won’t only commemorate the centennial year of founder and father of independence, the late Errol Walton Barrow, but for the first time since its inaugural staging, the race will be sailed in a southward direction.
This was revealed by commodore of the Barbados Cruising Club, Dr Rose-Ann Blenman-Abange during yesterday’s launch at the club for the week which is set to be held between January 17 and 23, with the main race on Errol Barrow Day.
“We think that if he were alive today he would be very proud of what we are doing and what we have accomplished for sailing and we hope to do even more while really making Barbados a hub for sailing, racing and activities like this,” she said. (RG)
