The Barbados Turf Club (BTC) has immediately brought forward the scheduled maintenance work to the Garrison Savannah race track.

That work was originally slated for August 31 to November 21.

This follows the cancellation of tomorrow’s race day and subsequent race days for an initial period of three months due to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Such action comes with the safety and well-being of all the stakeholders involved in the industry, and following the guidance of protocols established by the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO), the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the Ministry of Health and Wellness.  (LY)
