Police probe stabbing death

Police are appealing for the public’s assistance with investigation of a stabbing death.

Officers responded to a report of an altercation between two men which occurred about 10:55 p.m. on June 29 at Thompson Gap, Codrington, St Michael, according to a statement from police.

“On arrival they found a mature male lying motionless in a track. Police immediately summoned the ambulance which quickly arrived, an EMT made a check of the body and found no sign of life. A medical doctor later arrived at the scene and pronounced death.

“Family members of the deceased later identified the body as that of Victor Decourcey Husbands, 60, of no fixed place of abode,” the statement said.

The victim reportedly received stab wounds to the chest.

Investigations are continuing.
